Classic Peg Solitaire is a one-player puzzle built around pegs and empty holes. The board starts with many pegs already in place. Your job is to remove them by making legal jumps. A peg jumps over a neighboring peg and lands in an empty space. The peg that gets jumped over then leaves the board.
The goal is to finish with as few pegs as possible. The best result leaves only one peg, with the final piece in the center. That sounds simple, but the board can become difficult after only a few moves.
Every Move Changes the Puzzle

Plan for the Last Few Pegs

It helps to watch the empty spaces as closely as the pegs. Each empty hole can become a landing place for a future jump. Keeping useful routes open gives you more choices later. Moves near the center also deserve extra care because the perfect finish ends with one peg there.
Classic Peg Solitaire suits players who enjoy quiet puzzles with clear rules. There is no need to memorize a long list of controls. The challenge comes from thinking ahead and learning from failed attempts. A new round can play out differently after changing only one early move.
