“Archers and Altercations” is a tactical battle game that involves auto-attacking units and offers a variety of upgrades. In the game, players face the challenge of surviving 50 waves of relentless monsters. The gameplay emphasizes strategic decision-making, where your ability to outmaneuver and out-think your opponents is crucial.
The game includes a white morale bar, which is central to the gameplay. This bar acts as a lifeline for your forces. If the bar remains above 20%, your side continues to spawn fighters. However, if the morale bar runs out, players face the penalty of being pushed back to the previous stage, marked by the award of a skull as a reminder of tactical missteps. Conversely, clearing a stage of all enemy units propels players forward.
Players interact with the game by selecting units and ordering them to trade places with adjacent units. This can be done either by clicking on the unit or using the WASD or arrow keys. As players progress in the game, they unlock more unit types, which can be easily selected using buttons at the bottom left of the screen. The game provides helpful insights and tips as players mouse over most game elements.
